Exciting Times

Exciting Times!!! A new homeschool year has begun. The boys are doing great and we are loving are new set up!!! That is the first exciting thing going on in the Mallory Home.




Another exciting thing is that my new business is coming together. Snap and Scrap has been a dream of mine for a long time. It is coming to fruition with the help of friends and family.
I had a booth in the Gold Rush Festival to promote by business and I got several bookings. Mostly Seniors, which I love to shoot.






I am also over the moon excited about becoming a Creative Team Member at Designer Digitals. I got the call in August and I have been on Cloud Nine. I am able to work with the best digital designers and showcase their products. It is such a blessing!!!





One last piece of exciting news for now - I am guest teaching at Masterful Scrapbook Design again this month! The focus is on Design Play. I'm able to share my knowledge about scrapbooking while learning so much from my fellow scrappers. There will be a webinar today at 11:00 am. I'd love for you to join us where we will be discussing the design principles used on pages like these...





I have been super busy, but I am doing what I love and I am so thankful for these exciting times!!! ~Amy

The Journey

I wanted to share this page I created with you. Upon first glance, you may think the page is about flowers, specifically - hydrangeas. BUT there is more to this layout. The journaling explains a journey. A journey that started with this hydrangea bush. -- and the path that led me back to this same place.

Journaling -

Memories of home

These hydrangea
bushes are over
sixty years old.
They are such a
reminder of home!
I want my children to know about
the journey that led me back to
these beautiful flowers. The first
time that I saw these flowers is
when I was a little girl. We would
come to visit their great, great,
grandfather,Papaw McGukin. I
remember driving down the bumpy
road to get to his house and these
hydrangeas were the first thing we
saw from the road. We lived about
an hour away. Later in my childhood,
my parents divorced and we moved
to this area. I was able to visit Papaw
often and enjoy these flowers. When
I was a teen-ager, we had a house built
right beside Papaw’s house. I now could
look out the window every day and enjoy
the view. When I went to college, Papaw
passed away. The same year I met Daddy.
I married and lived away from home for many
years not knowing I’d return to this place.
We bought a house when I became pregnant
and was teaching. After I decided to stay
home, we moved back home. We bought a mobile
home that sits right behind these hydrangeas

Masterful Scrapbook Design

I knew the month of may would be GREAT after being asked to be a guest teacher at Masterful Scrapbook Design. Teaching plus scrapbooking equals my dream job!!! The focus for May is Stash Busting. There is so much inspiration at MSD. I'd be thrilled if you'd join and become a part of this community. I will be interviewed tomorrow in my first Webinar. The talented and sweet Debbie Hodge will be asking me questions about my scrapbooking process. I have also written an article that shows my process. Fun Uses for Digital Screws

Kayleigh Wiles is a digital scrapbooker that I have learned so much from! She is extremely talented and she has been a real treasure to the scrapbooking community. She has a new blog. I wanted to share a page where I used digital screws.



I am a big fan of using keylines on my pages as an extra detail. On this page about Caden, I put a digital screw in the 4 corners of the keylines just for an extra punch. Do you use digital screws on your pages? Head over to Kayleigh's blog and let her know how you've been using them!

Back into Blogging!

I am dusting off my blog and I really want to keep it current from now on! This Homeschool Year is flying by. 3rd grade and 1st grade are nearly over and it is almost time to start ordering curriculum! Wow, time flies!

My scrapbooking opportunities are increasing and I am thrilled about that! I will be a guest teacher at Masterful Scrapbook Design for May. This is a real dream come true! I have always wanted to teach scrapbooking classes. I am really looking forward to this experience! I am currently designing for Jessica Sprague and ErinInk and I continue to be very active at Designer Digitals.

I wanted to share a layout with you. My Caden and his dear friend Samantha. Their relationship is blooming into something so special.

Happy Camper

We have been so busy here at the end of October! My mind is swirling with inspiration with all the photos from the pumpkin patch and the costume parties! I am looking forward to some well needed scrapping time. I don't know when that will be exactly. I have another full week. Homeschool Field Trip on Thursday to the Corn Maze, Friday I am out of town - traveling to south GA for a Ladies Day. I will be participating in an event that my talented grandmother has coordinated! She has asked me to lead songs and read scriptures for the Ladies' Day. I am riding down with my mom and sister. I am really looking forward to it. Well I am off to make preparations for homeschool. But first, I wanted to share 2 layouts I made for JS...

Bring on the Rain

I spoke of the journey in my last post. On Tuesday, our dear elder's journey in this life ended. He has gone on to his reward. Brother John Vines loved the church and served her well. He will be greatly missed! His funeral was today. It was a beautiful sunny day in October, but I know it was a dark cloudy day for all of his loved ones. Even though they know he is in a better place, it is still tough to know that they won't hear his laugh or see the tears that he so easliy shed for those he loved so much. He was a good man, my friend. He led by example and by the knowledge of God's Word. He had a dream of having a Christian school in the West GA area. I hope that my homescooling efforts can somehow fulfill just a piece of his dream. On this sad occasion, I find comfort in the Lord. Brother Vines was ready to leave this world - I want to be ready too when my time comes.

Things are getting put into place for my duties at Jessica Sprague. I am excited about that. Mscraps is putting out some beautiful products as well. I wanted to share this page, Bring on the Rain. A page about my happy boy.

A New Perspective on Dirt

Living out in the country brings a lot of dirt and dust into the house. Having 3 nature boys doesn't help the situation. Each time I sweep, my dust pan is full of dirt that has come in from outside. My boys are magnets to dirt. This has been frustrating at times. Keeping a clean house and keeping a clean face for each boy proves to be challenging. I sometimes feel overwhelmed when my clean floor lasts for less than a day. Lately, I have gained a new perspective on all this dirt. A perspective that keeps me sane, but also shows just how special my little guys are. You see, everytime I sweep up dirt - it represents my children at play. It represents their wonderful imaginations. It represents the enjoymenty of God's beautiful nature. It represents innocent. Innocence?? How can dirt and innocence go hand in hand? Well the dirt on my floor can be swept up and I would much rather have dirt on my floor than my children putting dirt in their minds. So the innocence is preserved while they are playing outside. They are unplugged from the world. They are not being exposed to the wicked things that Satan delivers to out youth. I thank God for my children and for their pure hearts. Their latest memory verse is Psalm 51:10 - "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me." The price of dirt on the floor is so worth the innocence and CLEAN heart of my children!

Jessica Sprague is one of the pioneers in digital/hybrid scrapbooking. I have learned so much from her over the years. I am super excited to be a part of her creative team. I know I'm all about the scrapbooking today, but I have so many things to share about homeschooling too! I just wanted to share my good news - I wish you could see the smile on my face right now! A Dream Come True

I have been scrapping for nearly a decade. I have had several pages published in magazines, but I've never had that break through moment in the industry. I've always wanted to be a part of the scrapbooking business. Scrapbookers are among the friendliest people I know. We have that certain special thing in common that bonds us all together. Non scrapbookers don't always "get" why we do what we do. Well, after years of dreaming I have finally had a break through. I was asked to become a CT member at a top scrapbooking site. Memory Scraps or mscraps.com Being a Creative Team Member is not a "paid" position, but you do have access to the products in order to create layouts. (which is the next best thing to money) I am an active member at several scrapbooking communities. Mscraps has been such a warm and welcoming place. I am excited about this opportunity.
